Description
|
The traditional Wine Festival attract many people to Budapest from all around the world to taste the best wines of the Hungarian winegrowers. On the Wine Exhibition and Fair more than hundred exhibitors introduce their over thousand wines. The main events take place at Buda Castle: the exhibition Hungarian National Gallery about the history of wine-growing and drinking in Hungary, the Vintage Procession with the various wine regions parading in folk costumes, dancing, music and performances on Festival Stage, concert Budapest Convention Centre.

Itinerary
|
|
1st day:
|
|
Arriving in Budapest. Check in hotel. Welcome dinner. 1 hour cruise on the Danube with a glass of champagne.
|
|
2nd day:
|
|
City tour with guide, Visit the Castle District: Matthias Church and Fisherman Bastion, splendid view from the Gellert Hill, visit on the Pest side, Heroes Square with the Millenary monuments, the famous Public buildings and the Parliament.
|
|
|
Short walk in the City Park and Vajdahunyad Castle, which is represent the architectural styles of the 19th century. Afternoon visit the Wine Exhibition.

|
|
3rd day:
|
|
In the morning we will enjoy the unique festival of the wine, gastronomy and entertainment in Buda Castle Palace Terraces. Here visitors can see the full range of Hungarian bottled wines and also taste special Hungarian dishes.
On the vintage procession folk dancers in traditional costumes and wine knights will proceed through the Buda Castle.

Spectators will be entertained by folk dance and bands on the Festival stage. Folklore evening and dinner, music, folk dance, folk songs.

4 th day:
|
 |
Visit the Open-air Ethnographic Museum in Szentendre. Demonstration and exhibition of traditions, crafts and peasant cooking associated with the culture of wine. The program includes a wine fair with sales and tasting, cellar visits, folk dishes, musicians and comedians, handicraft displays, and choosing the vintage queen.

Evening: Goodby Budapest! Dinner with wine tasting in Matthias Cellar.
|

|
5th day:
|
|
Departure.
|
|
Optional Extra day :
|
|
Full day excursion by bus to Lake Balaton, the region of aromatic wines. Visit in Tihany. Visit the center of historical Hungarian wine region, Badacsony. After lunch we can take a closer look the vineyards and cellars and taste the famous wine, the Badacsonyi Olaszrizling. Extra night with breakfast in Budapest .
