Description
On our tour beyond the most popular parts of Budapest you will discover its surroundings, the Danube Bend, Esztergom, Visegrad and Szentendre, the Royal Castle in Gödöllő. Additionally you will take part on our three days food and wine tour, where you will be acquainted with the historical wine regions of Hungary in the neighbourhoods of Lake Balaton: Balatonfüred-Csopak, Badacsony and Somló wine districts.

1st day: Arrival to Budapest
|
|
Pick up at the airport or railway station and transfer to your hotel in Budapest.

2nd day: Budapest
|
 |
Three hours guided sightseeing tour in Budapest.
Individual afternoon walking in the city center.
Supper in a famous wine cellar of Budapest.

3rd day: One day excursion to Danube Bend.
|
|
|
A full-day tour taking guests to Esztergom, the oldest royal and
ecclesiastical residence in Hungary. After lunch in Visegrad, admire
the magnificent panoramic views from the Citadel. Then on to the
picturesque mediaeval town of Szentendre. Walk in the town of artists. Return transfer by boat or bus. Accommodation in Budapest.

4th day: Balatonfüred - Csopak and Balaton district wine regions
|
|
Pick up at the hotel in Budapest. Travel to Csopak. Visiting a famous wine cellar in Csopak. Short walk in Balatonfüred, the first medical resort of Hungary. Dinner in a typical Hungarian "csárda". Visiting Tihany, the fishermen's village. On the one hour guided tour you will get acquainted with the history of Benedictine Abbey, founded in 1051. Transfer to the cellar of afternoon wine tasting program, introducing the wines of Balaton district. Accommodation in Tapolca.

5th day: Badacsony and Balaton district wine regions
|
|
Pick up at the hotel in Tapolca. Transfer to Keszthely, the capital of Lake Balaton. Stop at Balatongyörök, where you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of Lake Balaton. One hour guided tour in Keszthely Festetics Mansion. Short walk in the downtown. Visiting the wine museum and launch in the restaurant.

Back to Tapolca through Lesence. Visiting the Tapolca Cave Lake, a unique sight in the whole Eastern Europe. Visit Szentgyörgy Hill - Tarányi cellar, Lengyel chapel from outside. Wine tasting in a representative wine cellar of the Hill. Visiting Szigliget castle. Wine tasting in a popular cellar of Badacsony wine region. Transfer back to Tapolca. Accommodation in Tapolca.

6th day: Somló wine region
|
|
Pick up at the hotel in Tapolca.
Transfer to Sümeg, walk in the Castle of Sümeg and then visit the glorious sight of Roman Catholic Parish Church. The frescoes of church , the "Sistine Chapel of the Hungarian Rococo", were painted by F.A. Maulbertsch's.

Transfer to Somló Hill. Dinner and wine-tasting in a famous local winery. Optional short walking tour to the Castle of Somló. Travel to Herend and visit the world famous Porcelan manufacture and its museum. Transfer to Veszprém. Short walk in the Castle district of Veszprém. Transfer back to your hotel Budapest. Accommodation in Budapest.

7th day: Budapest, Gödöllő Royal Castle
|
 |
Visit the famous baroque Royal Palace of Gödöllő, the former summer residence of the beautiful queen Elizabeth, Sisi. After the builder and first owner the outstanding complex of Hungarian baroque is also called Grassalkovich castle. The castle and its formal courtyard host various cultural events throughout the year.

You can take part on a performance in the Opera House or on a concert in the Palace of Arts or on a folklore show in an elegant restaurant of Budapest or evening sightseeing cruise on the river for extra price.
